Dr. Mario Gimona
Dr. Mario Gimona received his PhD in Genetics and Cell Biology in 1990 from the University of Salzburg, Austria. He spent his postdoctoral period at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York, and has led research labs in Austria and Italy. Since 2012 he heads the GMP stem cell and EV manufacturing unit at the Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg and leads a team of researchers investigating the potential of MSC-derived EVs in regenerative medicine for the reduction of fibrosis following surgery- and implant-induced injury.
