Restore Vision 2nd consortium meeting

RESTORE VISION

On June 3, 2024, the Restore Vision consortium held its plenary meeting at St. Erik’s Eye Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, following the recent EAC conference.

It was a pleasure to welcome representatives from all 10 Restore Vision partner sites, including clinicians, scientists, SMEs, and our patient organization, Aniridia Europe. We were especially honored to have Aniridia patient Matteo Castelnuovo join us, sharing invaluable insights from a patient’s perspective.

The morning session provided updates on each scientific work package within Restore Vision, showcasing progress in preclinical studies and outlining plans for clinical components. We were privileged to have our entire external clinical advisory board present—Prof. Uwe Pleyer, Dr. Paula Scholz, Prof. Frank Larkin, Dr. Christian Roesky, Dr. Mario Gimona, and Prof. Sascha Fauser. Their critical feedback and guidance during the post-lunch review session were greatly appreciated.

In the afternoon, we delved into communication and dissemination updates, planning for the second year of the project, and discussed ethics, regulatory matters, and project management. Our Ethics Advisor, Dr. Helen Busby, and Regulatory Advisor, Dr. Violaine Desort-Henin, offered essential insights into ethics and regulatory roadmaps.

Overall, the meeting was highly productive, marked by engaging discussions and invaluable advice from our advisory board members. We look forward to the next phase of the Restore Vision project with enthusiasm!
