Prof Abhay Pandit

Established Professor and Scientific Director

Abhay Pandit is an Established Professor of Biomaterials at the University of Galway. His research focuses on developing cutting-edge delivery vehicles that can transport various biomolecules to specific molecular and cellular damage processes in a spatiotemporal manner. Prof. Pandit’s is keen to understand the underlying pathogenic processes, particularly those impacted by glycomodulation, and this understanding is a source of inspiration for his research paradigms. In this project Professor Pandit is interested in developing biomaterials substrates that are optimized for improving the delivery of glycomodulating biomolecules in rare diseased eye conditions. The likely effects of these biomolecules are to restore the cell physiology, immune, avascular, neural, and signaling environment in the corneal pathology.
